SMP & Suspend2

On my dual-core AMD Turion 64 X2 laptop I have to configure the kernel for an SMP machine. The Suspend2 option did not appear until I have set the following configuration:

Processor type and features:

  • Subarchitecture Type (Support for ScaleMP vSMP)
  • Symmetric multi-processing support
    • Multi-core scheduler support
  • Non Uniform Memory Access (NUMA) Support
  • ACPI NUMA detection
  • Support for hot-pluggable CPUs

Without this last option, the Suspend2 option did not appear in my kernel.

I have not yet managed to finish the configuration necessary for the full support of the suspend features, if you did, please update this page.
